How do I clean ClearPlex film?
Clean your windshield regularily using mild soap and water and a soft cloth to remove tree sap, bird droppings, tar, oils and bugs. Do not use cleaning solutions containing petroleum distillates or sillicone oils.
Never use abrasive cleaners or cloths to clean Clearplex film.
Avoid the use of high-pressure sprayers on the windshield and other windows where ClearPlex has been applied.
Do not use sharp objects such as ice scrapers or blades to clean your windshield as doing so could damage the ClearPlex film.
How do I maintain ClearPlex film?
The use of an automotive protective wax such as Turtle Wax, NuFinish, RejeX or Meguiar’s Wax is an essential part of a monthly maintenance program for ClearPlex windshield protection film.
The wax will maintain the scratch resistance and water repellency of the ClearPlex film when it is used as directed. The wax also seals the ClearPlex film against bird droppings, bugs, oil, tar, grease, dirt and grime. The installer will apply an initial amount of wax at the time the film is installed on the windshield.
Vehicle owners should continue to apply wax to the windshield every month during the life of the ClearPlex film.

Worn, damaged or brittle windshield wipers can damage ClearPlex film. It’s important to periodically inspect windshield wipers to ensure they are in good condition. If wipers appear to be worn or damaged, they should be immediately replaced.
Wipers should not be run while the windshield is dry. Wipers should also not be used to clean the windshield when it is very dirty. It is preferable to use soap and water and a squeegee to clean excessively dirty windshields.
